Jake joined the Combined Program in Philosophy and Classics in 2017 after completing a B.A. in Philosophy and Classics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and spending a year as a visiting student at St. Anne’s College, Oxford. He is currently writing a dissertation on thought, perception, and perfection in Aristotle’s De Anima. Lately, he has also been thinking about Socratic epistemology, ethics in Plato’s Phaedo, and forms of individuals in Aristotle and Plotinus. Apart from philosophy, Jake enjoys harsh noise and poetry.
