Will joined the Department in 2013 after receiving a BA in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, where he wrote his dissertation under Simon Blackburn, and an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from University College London. His research interests center on ethics and the philosophy of mind and of cognitive science, especially their intersection. In his dissertation – ‘The Practical as Theoretical: A Theory of Motivation and Normativity’ – he develops, argues for, and defends a total reduction of the practical (attitudes, reasoning, and norms) to the theoretical.
