Lizzie (Elizabeth) Davis is a PhD candidate on the Classics track of the Classics and Philosophy joint program. Before coming to Yale, she completed her BA in Classics at St John’s College, Oxford. Her dissertation research examines practical deliberation and appropriate action in a wide range of Stoic authors, and how an agent’s features affect which actions they should perform. Her wider interests are centered around Roman and Hellenistic philosophy, and questions of ethics, moral psychology and epistemology.
