Seunghyun Angela Yeo entered the combined Classics and Philosophy program in 2020. Before coming to Yale, she completed two MPhils (one in Classics and one in Philosophy) at the University of Cambridge, and a BA at Williams College majoring in Philosophy, Classics, and WGSS (Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies). She is interested in the nature of reason/rationality and its relationship to goodness/value, and is currently trying to figure out what the rational part of the soul amounts to in Plato’s Republic. Her other interests include the intersection between metaphysics and ethics more generally, and how our metaphysical understandings of the world shape and are shaped by our value judgments.
