Zhenghe Ma joined the philosophy track of the Classics and Philosophy Combined Program in 2024. Before coming to Yale, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and an honors program in Classical Studies at Peking University. During her undergraduate education, she spent the penultimate year as a visiting student at Columbia University and the University of Oxford.
Zhenghe is primarily interested in ancient moral psychology and metaphysics, especially Plato. Her current focus concerns the role of various affective states in shaping human moral development. Motivated by her interdisciplinary background, she also enjoys exploring cognitive science, social ontology, social epistemology, and aesthetics. In her spare time, she is an enthusiastic lover of sights and sounds.
