Title: Aristotle on the meaning of life

Abstract: This new and improved talk argues that life, for Aristotle, means actively engaging in the activities of living things. I call this view the Activity View of Life (AVL). This talk looks at evidence for this thesis in the Aristotelian Corpus; evidence against it in De Anima II.1; and evidence for it again in De Anima II.5. Some bold conclusions about form and being are drawn from this view.
